Stephen Anthony, accountant

Stephen started off as an Assistant Accountant in a Victorian firm in 1979 and since then has worked in a variety of roles from Tax Accountant at Stanton Partners in 1989 before eventually forming his own practice SJ Anthony and Associates from 1994 to 2003, after which Stephen merged his practice into Compass Business Consultants.

Stephen works closely with individuals and small to medium businesses and helps with business structures, business improving (coaching) and completing all tax returns, BAS etc. Stephen has extensive experience in cost accounting, financial accounting and setting up excellent management systems.

David Fyfe CPA, accountant

David commenced his accounting career by joining Pascoe Hudson Broom and Blythe in 1984 and since then has worked in several larger accounting firms such as D W Allan and Co for 18 years followed by just over 12 months with Stirling Partners.

David works closely with small to medium sized business clients and rural clients. He assists clients with daily management and decision making processes, in addition to the usual year end compliance assignments and income tax advising work.

David has a strong focus on Capital Gains Tax issues and also restructuring of businesses for clients. This work has included recommendations for the format of new structures and assisting with succession planning, retirement and estate planning.

David is a member of CPA Australia and is currently Deputy Chairman of the Public Practice Comittee WA Branch.

David Goode, finance broker

David Goode is a licensed Finance Broker who is the director of Compass Finance Brokers Pty Ltd and is part of the Compass Financial Consulting Group that provides clients with a range of financial solutions.

David has a Bachelor of Business degree majoring in Accounting and Management from Edith Cowan University and is also a Justice of the Peace.

David has been a licensed finance broker and management consultant since September 2004 following over 26 years in the banking industry mainly with BankWest in WA. Many of those years were spent in management positions specialising in providing clients with both business and consumer finance.

Interests include watching Aussie Rules Football, cricket, tennis and golf mainly. David is also an active reader with a strong focus on business and politics. David is married to Jenny (school teacher) and together they have 6 children of which several are already grown up.

David is always keen on delivering the best possible customer service and will strive to achieve the ideal financing solution that meets your needs.

Travis Morien, financial planner

Travis has a Bachelor of Science with Honours from the University of Western Australia and has completed the Diploma of Financial Planning course offered by the FPA.

Travis Morien has been a financial planner since April 2001, when he became an authorised representative of AXA Financial Planning. A year later Travis moved to a small non-aligned financial planning firm, Taylor Financial Planners where he remained until July 2005. From 29 July 2005, Compass Financial Planners Pty Ltd obtained an Australian Financial Services License (#286175)

Travis' main area of interest is investment and financial planning, he spends his weekends reading Journal of Finance and similar publications, keeping up on the latest research and developments in investment theory and practice.

Apart from investment, Travis is also into science and technology, the cultivation and propagation of West Australian native plants, carnivorous plants, tropical fish, building and using astronomical telescopes. Travis likes to watch documentaries on SBS, particularly ones about 20th century history and politics.
